How is the naira amount worked out?

Reviewed

At the live rate on the day you request the payout, and you see the naira figure before you confirm.

No markup on money going out

This is worth stating plainly, because it is not how most platforms work. We do apply a margin on the rate when money comes in, when a customer pays in naira. We do not apply one when money goes out to you. Your payout converts at the live rate we see.

Why the figure moves

The rate is the market rate, so the naira value of the same balance is different on different days. That is the exchange rate moving, not a change in what you earned. Your balance is held in dollars and only becomes naira at the moment you withdraw.

Check before you confirm

The dashboard shows you the exact naira amount for the withdrawal you are about to request. If the rate looks poor that day and you are not in a hurry, wait. Nothing expires, and your balance is not losing value while it sits in dollars.

Your bank may still take a fee

What we send is what our side works out. Some banks apply a receiving charge on top, which is between you and them and is not something we can see or control.

If the amount looks wrong

Open a ticket with the payout reference and the rate you expected. Every payout records the rate used, so this is quick to check.
