How do I contact the author of an item?

Reviewed

Two routes, and which one you pick decides how fast you get a useful answer.

Comments, for anything public

Use the comments on the item page for questions other buyers would benefit from reading. Presale questions, how something works, whether it supports a particular setup.

Read the existing comments first. Popular items have usually answered your question already, and the reply is sitting there now rather than tomorrow. If you own the item, your comment carries a Purchased badge, and the seller's replies are marked Author, so it is clear who is who.

Support requests, for anything private

Open a support request from the item in My licences for anything involving your licence, your account, your purchase code, or details from your server. It reaches the seller with your purchase attached, so they can see what you bought and which tier you hold without asking.

Never post a purchase code, a password or a database detail in a public comment.

What to include

What you expected, what happened, how to reproduce it, your versions, and the exact error text. Sellers answer well-described problems first, simply because they can.

If the seller does not reply

Give it a few working days. If there is still nothing and you are inside your support window, tell us with the item name and your order number. We can see whether the request reached them, and unresponsive sellers are something we act on.
