What is not covered by item support?
Support covers the item working as advertised. It does not cover turning the item into something else.
Not covered
- Custom development. New features, design changes, or anything built to your specification rather than shipped with the item.
- Installing it on your server for you. Sellers help you install it. They are not obliged to do it themselves.
- Your own code. Anything you or another developer wrote on top of the item, including changes to its files.
- Third party pieces. Plugins, themes, APIs and services the item page never claimed to work with.
- Hosting and server problems. Your PHP version, your database, your email delivery, your SSL certificate.
- General teaching. Learning the language or framework the item is written in.
- Requests after support has ended. See renewing support.
This is not sellers being unhelpful
The price of an item assumes a bounded amount of the seller's time. If support meant unlimited custom work, items would cost many times what they do, and the people asking straightforward questions would be paying for the ones commissioning features.
Most of it is available, as paid work
Plenty of sellers will happily do the customisation, the installation or the integration as a separate job. Ask them. You are dealing with the person who wrote the code, which usually makes them the fastest option available to you.
