Can I use one licence on more than one site?

No. One licence covers one end product. A second site needs a second licence, even if it is the same design for the same client.

What counts as one project

One finished thing that people use. A website, an app, a single installation. Two sites are two projects however similar they look, and however much of the code they share.

What does not count as a separate project

You are not expected to buy a licence for every copy that exists while you work. These are all part of the one project:

• Your local development copy.
• A staging or testing environment.
• A copy on your own machine and one on a colleague's, working on the same build.
• Rebuilding or migrating the same site to a new server.

Build and test as freely as you need. It is the launched, separate end products that each need their own licence.

Why it works this way

A seller prices an item on roughly how many projects it will end up in. If one licence covered unlimited sites, the price would have to assume the worst, and everyone building a single site would pay for use they never make. Per project keeps items affordable for the people buying one.

Buying several at once

If you know you need five, buy five. They arrive as five licences with five purchase codes, which is what you want anyway, since each installation activates against its own.
