Can I upgrade from Regular to Extended later?
Yes. Buy the Extended licence for the same item and the project is covered from then on.
Do it before you start charging
The licence needs to be in place when the project starts earning, not once it takes off. If a side project you built under Regular is about to start taking payments, sort the licence out as part of the launch, alongside everything else you are checking.
What you end up with
Both licences sit in My licences. The Extended one is the one that now governs the project. Keep the Regular one on record rather than treating it as wasted, since it documents what you were operating under before.
You do not need to reinstall
Same files, same code. The tier is a permission, so there is nothing to swap out. If the item checks its licence against our API you may want to update it to the new purchase code so its records match reality, but nothing breaks if you do not.
If you are unsure whether you need to
Ask before you launch, not after. The seller can tell you how their terms treat your case, and it is a far more comfortable conversation than one that starts after the money has come in. If the seller does not answer, ask us.
